GIVING AND LOVING ALTRUISTICALLY (GALA) VIRTUAL
FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN
Since 2007, We’ve impacted over 9,000 students in Benin, Ethiopia, Ivory Coast, Senegal and Haiti, through our book donation and library construction programs. The Evening of Shining Evening is Seeds of Knowledge premier fundraising activity. We
showcase our past years accomplishments, share our stories, and thank our donors! 2021, would have been our 14th Evening of Shining Hope Gala! Unfortunately, we will not be able to celebrate in person due to the global pandemic, but we still need your help! Please help us reach our 2021 $10000 fundraising goal by donating to our 2021Virtual GALA (Giving And Loving Altruistically Gofundme.
READING HOUR
Since 2010, we have conducted reading hour in several rural schools with over 300 handmade books written and/or illustrated by students from US Universities and high schools and elementary schools including, Kennesaw State University (KSU) (GA), University of Georgia (UGA), GA, Oglethorpe University, Emory University, Savannah State University, McIntosh High School, Peachtree City, GA, Braelinn Elementary School, Peachtree City, GA, Norcross High School, Norcross, GA, Campbell High School, Smyrna,
GA, Woodstock Academy, Woodstock, CT, Miller Grove High School, Lithonia, GA, The Heritage School, Newnan, GA and L’Alliance Française d’Atlanta, Atlanta GA. We thank the students who created and/or illustrated the books as part of service learning/community engagement projects. Our thanks also go to the teachers who oversaw the book writing

In 2014 and 2019, we were fortunate to have reading hour conducted by Kennesaw State University Students who traveled to Benin as part of their study abroad/service-learning trip. The children were inspired and began creating their own books! They were very grateful and will remember their exciting experience with Elsie Barthole, Christina Burke, Tenisha Carrington, Mary Coleman, Sylidia Italiano & Nicole Ward, McKinley Arnold,
Angelina Koetter, Silvia Esteban, Vanessa Salazar Trujillo, Olivia Bryant, and Nicholas Fabiano. Merci à toutes!
Books created by students in the US and in Benin are now proudly displayed on the Seeds of Knowledge Online Global Library and the Kennesaw Digital Commons Global Library.
